Embrace Homesteading: A Journey to Simple Living

A New Beginning on an Old-Fashioned Path

Hi friend—and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

This blog has been on my heart for a long time. After years of living off the land, raising four boys, becoming a grandmother, and building a fully off-grid life with my husband in northern Manitoba… I realized it was time to open the door and invite others along for the journey.

Homesteading to Riches is more than a blog. It’s a place to share how we live simply, grow our own food, cook from scratch, and make a living—all from the comfort and chaos of our rural, off-grid homestead.

It’s about getting back to the basics. It’s about resilience. And it’s about building a life that’s truly rich—in freedom, in health, in family, and yes, in income too.

You’ll find a little bit of everything here:

How we grow and preserve food through long, northern seasons

How we power our life with the sun, the wind, and a whole lot of grit

How I built an online income from our kitchen table

How I sew, cook, create, and care for our home with intention

This blog is also a way for me to stay grounded during our next big step—building a brand-new homestead from the ground up. We’re starting fresh, and I’ll be sharing every messy, beautiful, inspiring step with you.

Whether you’re dreaming of a simpler life, curious about going off-grid, or just looking for recipes, homegrown tips, or income ideas you can do from home—I hope this becomes a place that feels like a breath of fresh air.

So grab a warm drink, take a look around, and make yourself at home.

We’re in this together—and I can’t wait to walk this path with you.

With love from the homestead,
Rachel
