How I Made Money From the Bush (And Why Every Homestead Mom Needs Income That Moves)

There’s a photo I wish I could fully capture.

Snow everywhere.
The guys cutting firewood.
Chainsaws echoing through the trees.

And me — sitting in the truck with my laptop open, Starlink mini on the dash, building my business.

I was working from the bush.

Not on vacation.
Not on a break.
Not “trying to squeeze something in.”

Working.

Making income.

And that moment reminded me exactly why I started building online in the first place.

The Reality Most Rural Moms Don’t Say Out Loud

Living rural is beautiful.

But it’s also expensive.

Fuel.
Groceries.
Equipment.
Repairs.
Kids.
Emergencies.

And most homestead families rely heavily on one main income.

That’s a lot of pressure.

Especially when:

  • You have babies at home.
  • You live off-grid or semi off-grid.
  • Your body doesn’t cooperate every day (I live with chronic pain after a serious accident).
  • You don’t have daycare options.
  • You can’t just “pick up extra shifts.”

So what do you do?

You build leverage.

I Didn’t Want a Side Hustle. I Wanted Control.

There’s a difference.

A side hustle adds more work.

Leverage creates freedom.

When I first started building online, I wasn’t thinking about flashy success.

I was thinking:

“What happens if something goes wrong?”
“What happens if costs go up again?”
“What happens if I physically can’t do as much one week?”

I needed something that didn’t depend on:

  • My location
  • My physical strength
  • Someone else’s schedule

So I started building digital income streams.

And slowly… it started working.

What “Freedom” Actually Looks Like

It’s not glamorous.

It’s messy and real.

It’s:

• Answering messages while babies nap
• Editing posts in the truck
• Scheduling content from the bush
• Making sales while supper is cooking

It’s having WiFi where there shouldn’t be WiFi.

It’s building income from your vehicle while firewood gets stacked.

It’s being present and productive at the same time.

And that’s powerful.

Why Every Homestead Mom Should Build Something Online

I say this with love.

Homesteading is smart.

Preparedness is smart.

But financial preparedness matters too.

If you can:

  • Pressure can
  • Grow food
  • Raise babies
  • Run a household

You absolutely can learn to build digital income.

The skills transfer.

Consistency.
Patience.
Long-term thinking.

It’s the same mindset.

You Don’t Need Perfect Conditions

I didn’t wait until:

  • The house was quiet.
  • The babies were older.
  • The pain disappeared.
  • The schedule cleared.

If I had waited, I’d still be waiting.

You build in the season you’re in.

From the kitchen table.
From the couch.
From the bush.

That’s the point.

The Question You Should Be Asking

Not:

“Is this risky?”

But:

“Is depending on one income less risky?”

Because in this economy?

Options are power.

If You Want to Start

I share exactly what I’m building and how I’m doing it inside my world.

Not hype.
Not fake promises.

Just a practical way for rural, homestead, faith-centered women to build income that moves with their life.

If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and start building leverage…

👉 Start here:

Because one day you’ll be sitting somewhere unexpected — maybe the bush — and realize:

You built freedom.

And it moves with you.
